Ranch Cat Rescue, owned by Alison Zook — Painting by Craftsman Painter
Heading west on the outer rim of Bloomington, IN, you’ll find a small country home recently renovated by Alison Zook, a cat lover and care provider. When Alison moved into her new farm house, which came with the goats, it was in a state that felt nearly unlivable. With her high aesthetic IQ and taste for MCM, she needed to create visual change in preparation for moving in, but the volume of work would be too intimidating to attempt all on her own.

Get an EstimateFinding a Local Painting Company
She called Color Designer and Craftsman Painter, Torlando Hakes, to get help with feeling confident about the ideas for color she had in her mind but couldn’t quite articulate them into names and placement. Torlando was able to provide a detailed estimate virtually via Google Meet and went on-site to provide the color design.

Painting Project Scope
The upper part of the home would be painted entirely by Myles Stephney of Craftsman Painter, while the downstairs basement which houses over 80 cats would be painted by a team of volunteer cat lovers.
All the ceilings, walls, and trim were painted two coats across the living room, kitchen, four bedrooms, bathrooms, closets, laundry, hall, and home office.

Where some of the rooms began as a green that could only be described as nickelodeon gak, the transformation lead to combinations of pink rose, charcoal and citrine.

“I love my home… You’ve helped me love my home.”
Myles worked steadily as the makeover took hold. At one point, Alison entered from a long day of work while Myles was wrapping up the day — she looked around at the walls and said, turning to Myles, “I love my home… You’ve helped me love my home.”
