Capitalism is an incredibly flawed system but at least the idea is that the market decides what is in demand. Those that don’t satisfy demand will fail and get cycled out of the system. I’m not sure how long the gig economy will last. It’s having the appearance, more and more, of a system that is actually more in favor of the corporations than the freelancers and independent contractors and might be a house of cards. Especially if the US in particular can’t figure out how to make healthcare more affordable or a countryman birthright.

The challenge with putting entire generations in a box is that it doesn’t account for different personality types. Assuming that millennials or Gen z as a generation would want entrepreneurship or side hustles is about as reliable of an idea as using the horoscope or Chinese zodiac to define individual desires.
